CARMONA, CAVITE – Stallion Laguna salvaged the 1-1 draw with Kaya Iloilo in continuing action from the 2020 Philippines Football League (PFL) brought to you by Qatar Airways Tuesday at the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) National Training Center. A different and energized Stallion arrived in the second half with Jhan Melliza delivering the equalizer in the 79th minute.
Coach Ernie Nierras started the second half by putting in Ricardo Sendra and the Argentine quickly led the team in dominating possessions and shots on goal. Sendra then executed a sharp assist to the waiting Melliza for the 1-1 tally.
Jovin Bedic opened the scoring early in the 10th minute. After scoring in the previous match, Kenshiro Daniels delivered the assist Bedic but from there, Kaya was limited to several close calls as they searched for a second goal.
The draw augured well for Stallion’s title chances since they have a match on hand after not playing on opening day last October 28. Stallion will next play United City in the main match on Friday starting at 8:00 PM.
Kaya had hoped to stay in step with fellow undefeated United City and now has seven points from three matches. They hope to return to the winning track when they take on the dangerous Azkals Development Team also on Friday starting at 9:00 AM.
