1st Animo Aquathlon August 30

11411824_10153141766183208_259860553641037931_o     AN AQUATHLON for a cause will be held at the De La Salle-Zobel campus in Ayala Alabang, Muntinlupa City on August 30, 2015 (Sunday) entitled “Animo Aquathlon”. The combined swimming and running race is organized by the DLSZ Alumni Association (DLSZAA) for the benefit of the Bro. Rafael Donato Adult Night High School and the DLSZ Swimming Teams.

Online registration is now ongoing (CLICK HERE TO REGISTER). Fees are pegged at PHP 1,500.00 for early birds until July 31, rising to PHP 1,700.00 afterwards until August 15 or when slots run out.

Participants are entitled to a swimming cap, event shirt, race bib, timing chip and eco bag. Medals and a post-race meal await all finishers.

Two categories, the Sprint and Full, will be contested. Both categories will consist of a 400-meter swim or eight laps in the school’s Olympic-size pool with participants released in batches of five every minute.

What follows is a 2.5-kilometer run of two laps around the school grounds for Sprint entries. Full entries will be made to do a five-kilometer run or four laps.

There will be no relay teams. This race is highly recommended for newcomers are making their initial forays into multisport and also to seasoned veterans who wish to have a solid training race while contributing to a worthy charity.

The Adult Night High School provides free education to poor but deserving students. The DLSZ swimming team is hoping to make a splash in the coming 78th UAAP Juniors and other meets.
