NCAA95: Arellano, San Beda Top 3X3

NCAA Season 95     MANDALUYONG CIY – After a forgettable season in the centerpiece event of Seniors Basketball, Arellano University celebrated as they captured the 95th National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) 3X3 Tournament Under-24 Division Sunday at the Jose Rizal University Gym.  The Chiefs defeated Emilio Aguinaldo College in the championship match, 21-12.

Raymart Angelo Sablan led the way for Arellano with eight points capped by the game-ending basket.  Completing the champion squad are Rookie of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year Justin Arana, Alfren Gayosa and Jordan Sta. Ana.

Meanwhile, San Beda University-Rizal solidified its status as the best Junior program by sweeping the Under-18 and Under-15 Divisions.  The Red Cubs beat University of Perpetual Help System-Dalta for the Under-18, 15-8, and San Sebastian College for the Under-15, 19-9.

The Under-18 Red Cubs are composed by Sebastian Valencia, CJ Delfino, Nicael Cabanero and Wilmar Oftana.  The Under-15 Red Cubs consisted of Prince Alao, Nathan Victoria, John Elbert Lopez and Jharmaine Lecciones.

Now on its third season of competition, 3X3 Basketball remains a demonstration sport.  It will not included in the computation of the season’s overall championship.
