San Beda Colors NCAA 91 Red And White

NCAA Season 91     SAN BEDA College is the Overall Champion of the 91st National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) season. The Red Lions banked on their victories in Men’s and Women’s Swimming, Men’s Taekwondo, Women’s Table Tennis, Lawn Tennis and Soft Tennis to amass 632.5 points.

Coming five points behind at a close Second Place was College of Saint Benilde with 627.5 points. The Blazers’ season was highlighted by a huge upset of highly-favored San Sebastian College in Women’s Volleyball to go with other titles in Men’s Table Tennis, Badminton and Women’s Taekwondo.IMG_20160119_135248

At a distant Third Place is Arellano University, who shocked San Beda for the Football championship and dethroned Jose Rizal University for the Athletics crown. The Chiefs also took the crown in Chess.

Other championships this year went to Colegio de San Juan de Letran in the Basketball, Mapua Institute of Technology for Men’s Beach Volleyball, San Sebastian in Women’s Beach Volleyball and University of Perpetual Help System-Dalta in Men’s Volleyball. Despite not winning any of the events, Lyceum of the Philippines University finished in Fourth Place owing to their consistent podium finishes with 376.0 points.

JGF_7041     San Beda made it a double as their Rizal Campus annexed the Juniors Overall Championship with 405.0 points via championships in Basketball, Chess, Table Tennis and Lawn Tennis. La Salle Green Hills came in at Second Place with 355.0 points on crowns in Football, Swimming, Taekwondo and Badminton.

Just like their senior counterparts, Lyceum-Cavite did not win any event but had a lot of podium finishes to cop Third Place with 307.5 points. Other champions were Immaculate Conception Academy in Athletics, San Sebastian in Beach Volleyball and Perpetual Help in Volleyball.

The Standings:

SENIORS – San Beda 632.5, Saint Benilde 627.5, Arellano 497.3, Lyceum 376.0, Perpetual Help 365.0, Letran 347.8, Mapua Tech 338.3, Emilio Aguinaldo 332.5, San Sebastian 320.5, Jose Rizal 163.8.

JUNIORS – San Beda 405.0, La Salle Green Hills 355.0, Lyceum-Cavite 307.5, Arellano 295.5, Letran 290.0, Immaculate Conception 270.0, Malayan Science 98.0, Jose Rizal 77.0.
