The adidas Ultra BOOST – greatest running shoe ever?

TAKING A bold new step in the Energy Running Revolution, adidas recently introduced the Energy BOOST, touted as the greatest running shoe ever at an exclusive event held in New York. A group of elite athletes headed by sprinter Yohan Blake of Jamaica, Major League Soccer star David Villa of New York City FC and Buffalo Bills Wide Receiver Sammy Watkins tested the shoe and pledged allegiance to the revolution.

The Ultra BOOST boasts of 20 percent more energy return with the elimination of the traditional EVA midsole. The innovative technology is composed of thousands of foam capsules.

Knowing that a runner’s foot expands during running, the PRIMEKNIT pattern allows the shoe to stretch in specific areas in order to allow maximum comfort. This effectively prevents friction that leads to blisters and other injuries.

Furthermore, the Stretch Web outsole adapts and stretches to foot strike and movement. Also, the entirely new heel construction allows for natural movement of the Achilles tendon by cradling the foot.

The shoe also has a featherweight sock liner that conforms to the foot’s natural form. The new dual-density Torsion System embedded on the shoe’s base allows for a more independent movement of the forefoot and heel for a smoother and controlled run.

“Each technology featured in Ultra BOOST was built to complement each other providing energized adaptability through a customized fit, look and feel,” said adidas Ruuning VP-Design Ben Herath. “While we’ve taken innovation to the next level, the sleek silhouette of Ultra BOOST is built to look as good as it performs.”

The Ultra BOOST will be available in the Philippines starting on February 25 at adidas sports stores and major department stores and specialty shops. Suggested retail price is PHP 8,295.00.
