No More NCAA Season 95

NCAA Season 95     THE 95th season of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has been formally terminated by the league’s Policy Board composed of Presidents of the 10 member schools.  Because of this, all pending tournaments will not be completed as a safeguard against the spreading Corona Virus.

“The NCAA through the Policy Board of Season 95 President Francisco Cayco of season host Arellano University has announced that NCAA Season 95 is terminated,” according to a statement released by the league.  Taking a hit are competitions in Athletics, Indoor Volleyball, Beach Volleyball, Football, Lawn Tennis, Soft Tennis, Under-15 Basketball and Cheerdance.

The league will convene again soon to study a proposal that would give affected student-athletes an additional year of eligibility.  If approved, the measure will benefit those who were supposed to be on their final season.

In games completed, Colegio de San Juan de Letran emerged as champions in the centerpiece event of Seniors Basketball while San Beda University-Rizal ruled the Juniors Division.  Host Arellano took the 3X3 Under-25 title while it was a double for San Beda in the Under-18 and Under-15 age groups.

San Beda was also victorious in Men’s and Women’s Swimming, Men’s and Women’s Table Tennis and Men’s Badminton.  College of Saint Benilde topped Men’s and Women’s Taekwondo, Arellano won in Women’s Badminton while University of Perpetual Help System-Dalta was tops in Chess.

After Arellano, it will be the turn of Letran to host the country’s oldest varsity sports organization.  The 96th NCAA is scheduled to open in the first week of August, 2020.
