NCRAA26: PMMS d. PLMuntinlupa, 71-67

#NCRAA26     DASMARINAS CITY – Philippine Merchant Marine School encountered rough sailing before finally nailing its fourth straight win at the expense of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa, 71-67, in continuing action from the 26th National Capital Region Athletic Association (NCRAA) Friday at the Ugnayang La Salle.  The Mariners moved into a tie for the Group A leadership with idle defending champion Olivarez College while planting one foot into next month’s quarterfinals.

The Mariners saw their 12-point lead after three periods, 60-48, slowly evaporate to as low as four markers with the last coming at 64-68 on two Remart Argana free throws.  Bryan Hilario then capped his 40-minute no-relief stint with a triple at the 1:10 mark to give PMMS valuable breathing space, 71-64.

John Ronald Olegario quickly answered with a triple of his own but that was the last to be heard from the Marshalls.  Wendel Attas preserved the win with a crucial steal and PMMS dribbled the time away and send the Marshalls to their fourth loss in five games and the brink of elimination.

Hilario finished with 21 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and five blocks.  Attas supported him with 14 points, eight rebounds and six blocks.
