FilOil: Lyceum d. Jose Rizal, 90-69

     SAN JUAN City – An undermanned Lyceum of the Philippines University overcame the odds and took down Jose Rizal University, 90-69, at the resumption of the 12th FilOil Flying V Premier Cup at the FilOil Flying V Centre Friday morning.  Reporting with only 10 players and without their stars, the Pirates led all the way behind the good plays of newcomers Casper Pericas and Yancy Remulla.

“I told the players that this was their time to shine,” said assistant coach Jeff Perlas who took over from Coach Topex Robinson.  “We wanted to manage the players’ minutes but I liked the energy everyone showed today.”

Pericas churned out an overall performance of 16 points, six rebounds and nine assists.  Remulla anchored the frontline with 15 points followed by Spencer Pretta with 11 points off three triples.

Jarvy Ramos paced the Heavy Bombers with 12 and six rebounds.  He was supported by Jonathan Jed Mendoza and Stefan Steinl with nine points each.
