PCCL: UP-Diliman d. PATTS, 84-79

There Can Only Be One     MANDALUYONG CITY – University of the Philippines-Diliman survived a major scare before putting away upset-conscious PATTS College of Aeronautics, 84-79, at the National Capital Region qualifiers for the 2017 Philippine Collegiate Champions League (PCCL) at the Jose Rizal University Gym Monday. The Maroons leaned on the fourth period heroics of Diego Dario and brothers Juan Gomez de Liano and Javier Gomez de Liano for the early lead in Group B.

PATTS, the reigning Inter-Scholastic Athletic Association (ISAA) champions, gave UP problems in the third period as Norman Torreno sizzled for 11 points en route to a 65-63 lead entering the fourth period.  Scoreless through three periods, Dario finally found his mark and joined the Gomez de Liano brothers in seizing back control and leading by 10 markers, 79-69.

The Seahorses came fighting back to threaten, 75-79, but the rally was doused by a big hit by Paul Desiderio nearing the two-minute warning, 81-75.  Joshua Diaz gave it one more gasp as his triple but PATTS back within four at the 30-second mark but time was not on their side as June Manzo iced the game with a free throw, his only points of the game.

Juan topped the Maroons with 28 points on 10 of 16 shooting from the field spiked by eight triples.  Older brother Javier followed with 15 points and nine rebounds and Desiderio added 10 points.

Arvee Capinding paced the Seahorses with 16 points and seven rebounds.  Jestoni Loyola chipped in 15 points on four triples.

PATTS (79) – Capinding 16, Loyola 15, Torreno 13, Reed 11, Diaz 8, Orada 6, Mounib 5, Mengoy 3, Tumbagohon 2, Bautista 0, Fandialan 0, Borja 0.

Period Scores: 22-19, 48-37, 63-65, 84-79.

    You actually make it seem really easy together with your presentation but I find this topic to be actually one thing that I think I would by no means understand. It seems too complicated and very extensive for me. I am looking ahead for your next post, I will attempt to get the hold of it!
