NCRAA25: Olivarez d. PSBA-QC, 78-65

#NCRAA25     MANILA – Olivarez College continued its mastery of Philippine School of Business Administration-Quezon City, 78-65, in continuing action from the 25th Sta. Lucia Land National Capital Region Athletic Association (NCRAA) games at the Technological Institute of the Philippines Tuesday afternoon.  The Sea Lions drew big numbers from starters Archie Sunga and Dwight Saguiguit as well as their reserves to carve out the victory.

Olivarez allowed the Jaguars to score the first basket of the game and it proved to be their last hurrah as the Sea Lions seized control and never looked back.  Sunga and Saguiguit combined well with fellow starter Vinny Begaso in pounding the Jaguars into submission and the attack was sustained by subs Harold Sala, Jeric Prado and John Uduba as Olivarez saw themselves erect a 19-point lead, 54-35, and it was smooth sailing from there.

Sunga led all scorers with 17 well distributed points throughout the game to go with seven assists.  Saguiguit was next with 13 while Prado, Sala and Begaso all hit twin digits.

Michael Angelo Viloria led the Jaguars with 16 points and 12 rebounds while rookie Onel Amansec added 14 markers.  However, Amansec had to be rushed to the hospital in the fourth on a suspected concussion, a major development since PSBA-QC will only have 10 players available for the entire season, including Amansec.

How They Scored:

OLIVAREZ (78) – Sunga 17, Saguiguit 13, Prado 11, Sala 11, Begaso 10, Uduba 6, Andico 5, Solis 5, Almajeda 0, Campos 0, Completo 0, Geronimo 0.
