NCAA93: Malayan d. Letran, 91-75 (Jrs)

NCAA Season 93     SAN JUAN City – Defending champion Malayan High School of Science zoomed to the early solo leadership of the 93rd National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Juniors Division by taming Colegio de San Juan de Letran, 91-75, at the FilOil Flying V Centre Tuesday (July 11).  The Red Robins now tote a clean 2-0 win-loss card.

Mike Enriquez scored all of his six points in the second period but it was enough to lead a balanced attack that allowed Malayan to turn the game wide open by halftime, 43-30.  The Squires actually took the first period, 17-14, with starters Neil Tolentino and Kobe Monje at the firing end.

Clint Escamis paced the Red Robins with 18 points.  Will Gozum had a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds.

Tolentino led the Squires with 15 points and six rebounds.  He was followed by Enoch Valdez with 13 points and eight rebounds.

Period Scores: 14-17, 43-30, 62-50, 91-75.
