FilOil: Far Eastern d. San Sebastian, 84-80

2017 FilOil Flying V Premier Cup     SAN JUAN City – Far Eastern University clinched the top seeding in Group B of the 11th FilOil Flying V Premier Cup Monday (June 12) at the FilOil Flying V Centre.  The Tamaraws ended the six-game winning streak of San Sebastian College, 84-80, to top the group with a 7-1 win-loss card.

FEU also gave an assist to idle Adamson University by handing them the second seed.  Both the Falcons and the Stags finished with identical 6-2 records but the Falcons beat the Stags, 64-61, last May 3.

RJ Ramirez led the Tams with 18 points, nine rebounds and two steals.  Achie Inigo followed with 16 points.

Ryan Costelo topped the Stags with 17 points on four triples plus five rebounds.  Jerrick Fabian was next with 13 points, four rebounds and four assists.

The Tams, Falcons and Stags now await their opponents in the knockout quarterfinals as the seedings from the tight Group A are far from clear.  The fourth and last Group B berth will be disputed by University of the Philippines (4-2) and National University (4-3) this Wednesday (June 14).

SAN SEBASTIAN (80) – Costelo 17, Fabian 13, Calisaan 12, David 10, Gayosa 10, Capobres 7, Navarro 5, Calma 4, Bulanadi 2, Mercado 0, Ilagan 0, Valdez 0, Baetiong 0.

Period Scores: 19-23, 40-41, 62-59, 84-80.
