FilOil: EAC d. Mapua, 79-71

2017 FilOil Flying V Premier Cup     SAN JUAN City – Emilio Aguinaldo College averted a monumental disaster by hanging tough in the stretch to put away Mapua University, 79-71, at the resumption of the 11th FilOil Flying V Premier Cup at the FilOIl Flying V Centre Monday (June 12).  The Generals were on their way to the blowout until they could only cough up four points in the final period but the feisty Cardinals still fell short.

Despite ending their campaign with only three wins in eight games, Coach Ariel Sison remains upbeat about his Generals’ chances come the 93rd season of the NCAA starting this July 8.  EAC counts fellow NCAA members College of Saint Benilde and Mapua among its victims aside from scalping playoff-bound Adamson University.

Sidney Onwubere led the Generals with six triples for 22 points on top of seven rebounds.  Jervin Guzman and Jerome Garcia supported him with 13 markers apiece.
