FilOil: May 10 Roundup

2017 FilOil Flying V Premier Cup     SAN JUAN City – San Sebastian College, University of the East and Lyceum of the Philippines University picked up important wins at the 11th FilOil Flying V Premier Cup Wednesday (May 10) at the FilOil Flying V Centre.

SSC banked heavily on the second half exploits veterans Michael Calisaan and Allyn Bulanadi to halt College of Saint Benilde, 77-63.  Both schools now tote similar 1-1 win-loss cards in Group B.

UE then kept UAAP rival University of Santo Tomas still in search of their first win, 80-67.  Clark Derige and Alvin Pasaol hit the key shots to make the Warriors turn the game into a blowout.

It was not a good day for Dominican-run schools as LPU put the cuffs on Colegio de San Juan de Letran, 99-90. CJ Perez and Jayvee Marcelino continued their impressive summer with 16 points apiece as the Pirates moved into a share of the Group A leadership with idle Jose Rizal University at 2-0.

Meanwhile, JRU chalked up its first win in the Juniors Division by waylaying debuting University of the Philippines Integrated School, 77-63.  Toby Agustin led the Light Bombers’ charge with 26 points as they evened their record at 1-1 in Group B.
