ROS Sumilang Invitational: Saint Clare d. TIP, 92-60

NAASCU on Facebook     PASIG CITY – Saint Clare College of Caloocan scored a 32-point demolition of Technological Institute of the Philippines, 92-60, to begin the Rain Or Shine Sumilang Invitational Tournament on a high note at the Sumilang Covered Court Wednesday (April 19).  The tournament is organized by sportsman Buddy Encarnado as part of the festivities of the Santa Rosa de Lima Parish to mark the 400th death anniversary of patroness Saint Rose of Lima.

Trailing by a point, 31-32, Saint Clare scored the last 14 markers of the first half to erect a 45-32 lead which they never gave up.  So relentless were the Saints that they continued to pour it on by outscoring the Engineers in the final canto, 30-17.

Mark Puspus led the Saints with 16 points, eight made in the second period, on top of six rebounds.  Also hitting double figures were Rey de Mesa with 11 and Rojay Santos.

Alex Ramos was the lone bright spot for TIP with 18 points and 11 rebounds.  Matthew Manalang was next with only eight markers.
