NCRUCLAA: DOMC d. EAC-Cavite, 107-57

NCRUCLAA on Facebook     PARANAQUE CITY – Amazing De Ocampo Memorial College streaked to its third consecutive victory at the National Capital Region Universities and Colleges of Luzon Athletic Association (NCRUCLAA) by bulldozing past Emilio Aguinaldo College-Cavite, 107-57, in continuing action Thursday (February 2) at the Olivarez College Gym.  The Cobras moved into a share of the lead of Group A with Rizal Technological University with similar 3-0 win-loss cards and sets the stage for their titanic showdown next week at the same venue.

EAC rushed to an 8-7 lead and that was the cue for Igi Boy Sabasaje to come off the bench and scatter eight points as DOMC immediately turned the tide in their favor after one period, 26-13.  Inspired by the presence of school president Dr. Vicente Antonio de Ocampo, Dahrell Caranguian then went to work after a so-so first period as he pumped in 11 markers and the Cobras were well in cruise control by halftime, 58-36.

Caranguian did even need to score in the final canto as JR Pascual, Raymart Atabay and Angelo Ramos combined in a crippling 11-0 run that set the count at 99-50, the proverbial knockout blow.  The Cobras lead stood at its biggest at 104-52 before they allowed the Vanguard a late spree to trim the final deficit.

Sabasaje finished with a total of 15 points and five steals to earn the nod as Player of the Game.  Caranguian still paced the Cobras with 18 points, four rebounds and three assists while Pascual also chipped in 15 markers as a total of six Cobras scored in twin digits.
