MANDALUYONG CITY – Enderun Colleges bounced back from their first loss by venting their frustrations on City University of Pasay, 100-85, in continuing action from the 16th National Athletic Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (NAASCU) at the Rizal Technological University Gym Sunday afternoon (September 11). The Titans got shamed at their home floor last Wednesday by Saint Clare College, 65-88.
The Titans did not actually have the best of starts as they allowed the Eagles to take the first period, 25-24, with Jayvee de la Cruz, Edgar Erice and team captain Louie Lizardo leading the way. It was a different come the second as the Titans settled down with team captain Christian Errol Villar, Wabo Kaptue and shooter Michael de la Cruz asserting their might in a 20-0 run which pegged the count in the Titans’ favor for good, 52-30.
De la Cruz continued his form in the third canto as he pushed Enderun to its biggest lead of the game, 65-38. Scrub time came early as Coach Pipo Noundou took the opportunity to give extended minutes to his role players.
De la Cruz scored 12 of his 18 points in the third to pace the Titans. Villar was next with 14 and Sean Francisco had 11 of his 13 points in the fourth period.
Erice topped the still winless Eagles with 14 points while Francis Macasil added 12. Three more Eagles had 10 points each as they padded their statistics in the fourth period.
