NAGA CITY – Local favorite Mario Maglinao ruled the 40th MILO Marathon Naga qualifying race last August 28. A fixture in footraces in Bicol and Metro Manila, Maglinao successfully negotiated the 21-kilomerter course and crossed the finish line in 1:14:40.
Placing second to Maglinao was Greg Vincent Osorio in 1:17:07. In Third Place was Eugene Postrado in 1:17:51.
The distaff side went to Mary Grace de la Torre who finished in 1:48:10. Joining her on the podium were Angelica Senining (1:49:14) and Gemma Payong (1:52:32).
Overall, a total of 48 men and five women met the qualifying times needed to earn spots in the National Finals scheduled for December 4 in Iloilo City. Naga is the last leg on Luzon as the MILO Marathon moves to the Visayas beginning with the Tagbilaran City qualifiers on September 18.
Other Winners: Marino Lagyap Jr. and Cindy Lopez (10 kilometers), Renante Lopez Jr. and Lovely Joy Cordovilla (five kilometers), Junriz Francis Arevalo and Princess Mae Lopez (three kilometers).
