NAASCU: September 1 Juniors Recap

NAASCU on Facebook     MANDALUYONG CITY – Day Two of the Juniors Division of the 16th National Athletic Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (NAASCU) got underway last Thursday (September 1) at the Rizal Technological University Gym.  Saint Clare College of Caloocan, Our Lady of Fatima University and Rizal Technological University all cruised to their second straight wins in as many games to pace the 10-team field.

Saint Clare bashed Manuel L. Quezon University, 89-70, in the first meeting between brothers and coaches Jino Manansala of the Saints and JR Manansala of the Stallions.  Fatima survived upset-conscious Philippine Christian University, 93-84, and RTU banked on the strong home crowd to outlast New Era University, 93-85.

In other games, AMA University clipped Philippine Merchant Marine School, 84-80, while Colegio de San Lorenzo halted De Ocampo Memorial College, 87-74.  The Juniors will play again on Tuesday (September 6) with five games slated at the AMA University Gym in Quezon City starting at 11:00 AM.
