MANDALUYONG CITY – Egged on by a partisan crowd, Rizal Technological University held form at its home floor to subdue visiting Manuel L. Quezon University, 75-55, at the continuation of the 16th National Athletic Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (NAASCU) Juniors basketball games. John Marino Haboc scored five points in the second period to key RTU’s breakaway for good by halftime, 40-27.
Jonathan Boholano then added eight more points in the third to finish with a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds for the Junior Thunder. Haboc and Philip Andrew Redondo both had 11 points.
Richmond James de Leon was the top scorer for the Colts with 11. Joshua Noel Nicolas was next with 10.
