NAASCU: New Era d. PCU, 96-78

NAASCU on Facebook     MANDALUYONG CITY – New Era University added to the losing streak of Philippine Christian University, 96-78, on the first day of the Juniors Division of the 16th National Athletic Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (NAASCU) at the Rizal Technological University Gym Tuesday (August 30).  The Junior Hunters thus matched their win total from last season wherein they only won a single game against the winless Junior Dolphins.

Leo Turla led the way for the Junior Hunters with 24 points.  Jeff Comia chipped in 22.

JM Ambrosio returned to the PCU roster after missing last season, making 29 points including a 20-point flurry in the final period.  Adrian Gabriel Garcia and Mark Edison Ordonez added 11 markers each.

PCU went winless last season, dropping all their five assignments.  The team has actually yet to win a game, losing all their official games since joining the league in 2014.

PHILIPPINE CHRISTIAN (78) – Ambrosio 29, Garcia 11, Ordonez 11, Reyes 6, Baluyot 4, Tactay 4, Mechilina 4, Manalo 3, Casajeros 2, Medina 2, Tolentino 2, D Dancel 0.

Period Scores: 26-21, 42-42, 65-55, 96-78.
