QUEZON CITY – Racal Tiles returned to the winning track of the 2016 PBA D-League Foundation Cup after taking apart Topstar ZC Mindanao, 102-83, in continuing action Tuesday (June 14) at the Jesus Christ Saves Global Outreach Gym. The Tile Masters improved to 2-1 while the Aguilas remained winless at 0-3.
Designated gunners Jonathan Grey, Philip Paniamogan and Dexter Maiquez combined for 21 of Racal’s 29 points in the second period as they overturned their deficit after the first period to lead at the halftime break, 51-38. Again, the Aguilas failed to sustain their strong start with JR Cawaling and RJ Argamino fuelling their early drive to lead after the first canto, 25-22.
It was total domination for the Tile Masters in the second half with Paniamogan, Grey and later Joseph Terso taking turns at heading the offense. A late run reduced the final deficit which once stood as high as 31 points early in the fourth period, 86-55.
Grey paced the Tile Masters with 20 points. Paniamogan backed him up with 16 despite hitting only one triple.
Cawaling had a game-high 22 markers. Argamino followed with 15 points via three triples.
