RTU Rules NAASCU Swimming

NAASCU on Facebook     QUEZON CITY – Rizal Technological University continued its domination of the second semester events of the 15th National Athletic Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (NAASCU). This time, their tankers took to the water and ruled the Swimming Meet held over the weekend at the Our Lady of Fatima University-Quezon City campus in Fairview.

The Blue Thunder amassed a total of 213.5 points to take the Men’s Division championship. On the other hand, the Lady Thunder tallied 192.0 points for the Women’s Division title.

RTU got a stiff challenge from guest team Philippine Merchant Marine School Poseidon Swim Team. The Las Pinas City-based squad garnered 153.5 points for runner-up honors while Centro Escolar University settled for third spot with 134.0 points.

Both PMMS and CEU switched positions in the Women’s Division. CEU grabbed 150.0 compared to the 104.0 points of the Lady Mariners.

Combining points from both divisions, RTU made it a runaway with 405.5 points, a good 121.5 points over second placer CEU with 284.0 points. PMMS ended at third with 257.5 points.

Also sending entries were season host New Era University and venue host Our Lady of Fatima University. Earlier, RTU bagged championships in Men’s and Women’s Volleyball and Cheerleading to add to their trophy haul this season.
