SpeEd UnLIMITed For Kids This Jan. 31

SpeEdPoster1    CHILDREN WITH special needs will definitely welcome the New Year with a bang with the holding of “SpeEd UnLIMITed: A Very Special Run” to be held on January 31, 2016 (Sunday) at the Cultural Center of the Philippines grounds. The Child’s World, school dedicated to special education, has partnered with the Pinoy Aspiring Runners (PAR) as the running group continues its advocacy of giving back to the community through noble charity fun runs.

Runners of all skill levels are invited to try the 16, 10, five and one-kilometer races. The event’s beneficiaries will also run accompanied by their guardians.

Registration fees are set at PHP 800.00 (16 kilometers), PHP 650.00 (10 kilometers), PHP 550.00 (five kilometers) and PHP 350.00 (one kilometer). All categories come with an event singlet and race bib.

Registration will begin on the first week December at Sportshouse branches located at Trinoma Mall, SM Mall of Asia and SM Megamall, Garmin at Glorietta V and at Stamina Gym in Malibay, Pasay City. Guardians or companions of special children runners will be given a free race bib as long as they present proper identification and documents.

Cash prizes will also be awarded to the top male and female finishers in the 16, 10 and five-kilometer categories. All finishers will receive medals while finisher shirts await the 16-kilometer runners.

Proceeds of the run will go furthering the scholarship fund for The Child’s World as well as improving their cultural arts and sports programs. At least a quarter of the school’s students come from disadvantaged families so organizers are hoping that awareness about special education will increase through the fun run.

SpeEd UnLIMITed also marks PAR’s third anniversary of existence. Since their first anniversary in 2013, the dynamic running group of President Joseph Balbino and founder Andrew Gacayan has always made it a point to hold an annual fundraiser for different charitable causes.
