JOHN WALL’S much-awaited signature basketball shoe will finally make its debut just in time for the coming NBA season next month. The J Wall 2 is a fitting follow up to the All-Star guard’s first-ever shoes that was launched almost a year ago.
Two colorways will be released, a Home edition which is basically white with red trimmings and an Away edition which is blue with white and red trimmings. The colors match with the Washington Wizards’ jerseys, his one and only team since the 2010-2011 season.
A lot of the design details pay homage to Wall’s parents, family and friends. The loud colors and bold designs represent his style of play and desire to standout on the court.
The shoe is engineered in order to provide maximum comfort, stability, flexibility and cushioning with a Quickframe upper and full-length adiprene+. One of the fastest and most explosive players on the fastbreak, Wall is expected to elevate and enhance his performance with the new shoes and perhaps take the Wizards to the second championship in franchise history after winning it all way back in 1978.
The J Wall 2 will hit the shelves of adidas stores and major department stores and sporting goods shops beginning with the Home version on October 31 followed by the Away version on November 6. The suggested retail price is PHP 6,295.00.
Meanwhile, incoming Miami Heat rookie Justise Winslow recently became the newest addition to the growing list of adidas athletes. The 6’6” swingman was selected as the 10th overall pick in the last Rookie Draft out of Duke University.
Winslow is the son of former Milwaukee Buck Rickie Winslow and spent only a year with the Blue Devils albeit highlighted by their capturing of the 2015 NCAA National Championship. Only 19 years of age, he is seen as big piece of the Heat’s future.
Just like his fellow adidas ambassadors, Winslow will be featured in a series of campaigns leading up to the 2015-2016 NBA season. He will also help develop footwear and apparel.
Winslow will join the ranks of Wall, James Harden, Derrick Rose, Damian Lillard, recent Manila visitor Ricky Rubio and reigning Rookie of the Year Andrew Wiggins.
