PaRUN Ng Cowboy On May 17

CowboyRunofficial poster     IN LINE with their 21st anniversary of providing fine food and entertainment, Cowboy Grill will be holding the “PaRUN ng Cowboy”, a charity fun run on May 17, 2015 (Sunday) at the Cultural Center of the Philippines grounds starting at 4:00 AM. The event’s beneficiary is Cottolengo Filipino, an orphanage in Rodriguez, Rizal that focuses on children with special needs.

“This is part of our company’s Corporate Social Responsibility Program,” said Cowboy Grill Marketing Manager Marianne Escobar during the event’s recent launch at their Quezon Avenue Branch. “We are the first restaurant or bar that has come up with such an activity.”

Runners may join either the 10, five or three kilometer categories. Registration fees are reasonably priced at PHP 650.00 for 10 kilometers, PHP 550.00 for five kilometers and PHP 450.00 for three kilometers.

Aside from the usual event singlet and race bib, a new twist will see all finishers rewarded with medals shaped like sheriff’s badges and ten-gallon hats similar to those used in the Wild West. Being a run for a cause, all podium finishers will receive gift packs and tokens instead of cash prizes.

Interested parties may go to Cowboy Grill branches in Malate, Mabini, Quezon Avenue and Las Pinas to sign up. Registration centers will also be set up at selected Mizuno outlets at the SM Mall of Asia, SM Megamall, Trinoma, Alabang Town Center and Bonifacio High Street.

Deadline for submission of entries will be on May 15, 2015 or until supplies last. Should the need arise there may be onsite registration on race day.

Taking charge of the technical aspects of the race that is expecting up to 2,500 participants will be the Pinoy Aspiring Runners (PAR) led by Andrew Gacayan and Joseph Balbino. Escobar thanked PAR for introducing them to Cottolengo.

PAR is slowly building a strong reputation as a race organizer specializing in charity runs. Over the last two years, PAR’s hard work has been rewarded as more events are in the pipeline.

Runners are also encouraged to stay after completing their race as Cowboy Grill has prepared a lineup of bands and other acts to provide live entertainment. Fun games and surprise activities will also be held, including a mechanical bull for those willing to take the challenge.
