DAMIAN LILLARD will finally get to play in this year’s 64th NBA All-Star Game after the league named the Portland Trail Blazers stalwart to replace the injured Blake Griffin of the Los Angeles Clippers on the Western Conference squad. Immediately after the announcement, adidas unveiled a special edition of the D Lillard 1 signature shoes that Lillard will don for his second straight All-Star appearance.

Designed in tandem with the 2015 NBA All-Star uniforms, the shoe features a clean white leather upper with white snakeskin texture across the back panel of the shoe, around the midfoot laces and atop the TECHFIT booty. Black accents include the toe cap with tonal snakeskin print and logos on the back of the shoes.

The full-length adiprene+ midsole features black splatter print, while the outsole is translucent black. The shoe is finished with metallic gold “Dame” and adidas logo branding across the tongue.

Despite averaging career-best averages of 21.6 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.5 steals and a solid 6.3 assists, Lillard failed to garner enough fan votes to make the starting line-up. After that, the Western Conference coaches left Lillard out of the seven reserves to complete the team.

A season-ending shoulder injury to Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers opened up a spot but this was then filled by DeMarcus Cousins of the Sacramento Kings. Suddenly, Griffin required surgery for a staph infection on his right elbow and this time there was no denying Lillard.

Lillard will face his fellow adidas ambassadors John Wall of the Washington Wizards and Kyle Lowry of the Toronto Raptors who were both voted by the fans to start for the Eastern Conference All-Stars. The All-Star Game will be played on February 15 (February 16 in the Philippines) at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

The D Lillard 1 All-Star edition will be available this February with a suggested retail price is PHP 5,695.00. Follow adidas on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for more exclusive content and the latest updates and promos.
