IN TIME for the coming 64th NBA All-Star Game in New York City, adidas has recently introduced a pair of limited edition colorways for its iconic Crazy 8 basketball shoe in honor of the two co-host franchises New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets. First released more than a decade ago, the unique design and exaggerated features like the wave-shaped upper molding take players back to the 1990’s.

Both shoes have synthetic leather uppers that are textured like basketballs. The teams’ logos are shown prominently on the tongue while a fist on the heel symbolizes their brewing inter-city rivalry.

One of the NBA’s original franchises, the Knicks has called Madison Square Garden home since 1946. The Nets moved to Brooklyn from New Jersey in 2012 with the Barclays Center as their home floor.

Madison Square Garden will host the main All-Star Game on February 15 (February 16 in the Philippines). The game was last held in New York in 1998 with the East prevailing over the West, 135-114.

Barclays Center will be the venue for the popular side events on February 13 and 14. The exciting Three-Point Shootout and Slam Dunk contest will banner Saturday’s schedule while the NBA’s youngsters take the spotlight in Friday’s Rising Stars Challenge.

The New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets Crazy 8 will be available this month at Titan branches and at the NBA Store in Glorietta. Suggested retail price is PHP 5,995.00.
