JOHN WALL of the Washington Wizards was recently named as a starter for the Eastern Conference at the 64th NBA All-Star Game on February 15, 2015 (February 16 in the Philippines) at the historic Madison Square Garden in New York City. This also marks the second straight season that the five-year veteran point guard will appear in the annual midseason classic.
In honor this momentous occasion, adidas has unveiled a special NYC All-Star colorway for the J Wall 1 signature shoe which he will use at the game. The design is based not only on the basketball culture of but also on the music and fashion scene of the Big Apple.
The All-Star colorway is basically white, black and gold with subtle snakeskin textures. All the safety and performance features of the shoe are present including the double-layer mesh upper, FITFRAME and adiprene+ midsole.
Wall is currently leading the league leader in assists with 10.0 over 44 games, his highest in five seasons. His other numbers consists of 17.2 points, 4.3 rebounds and a career-best 2.1 steals in leading the Wizards of Coach Randy Wittman to a 29-15 win-loss card, the second best in the Eastern Conference.
The J Wall 1 will also have a new DC Blue colorway to match the Wizards’ navy blue alternate uniforms. The shoe is mostly navy blue with red accents.
The DC Blue colorway will be launched in the Philippines this month while the NYC All-Star colorway will be made available next month just before the All-Star Game. Both colorways have a suggested retail price of PHP 5,995.00 at adidas stores and major department stores and specialty shops.
Meanwhile, another adidas athlete will join Wall on the Eastern starting five in Kyle Lowry of the Toronto Raptors. Lowry earned the nod of the fans with career-best averages of 19.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 7.4 assists and 1.4 steals in powering the Raptors to a 28-15 record good for third best in the conference.
Completing the East starting unit are Pau Gasol of the Chicago Bulls, Lebron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Carmelo Anthony of the host New York Knicks while the Western Conference starters of Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers, Marc Gasol of the Memphis Grizzlies, Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors, Anthony Davis of the New Orleans Pelicans and Blake Griffin of the Los Angeles Clippers. The reserves of both teams will be announced on January 9 with several more adidas athletes having good chances of cracking the rosters.
