THE HISTORIC walls of Intramuros will be the backdrop as the Color Blast Run Philippines series hits Manila for the very first time on
September 21, 2014 October 19, 2014 (Sunday) starting at 5:00 AM. Runners are expected to go through several stations spread over the three and six-kilometer routes wherein they will be “blasted” with various colored powders.
This event is presented by the Lyceum of the Philippines University Central Student Government (LYCESGO) in cooperation with the Pinoy Aspiring Runners (PAR) and Global Excellence and Events Promotion. This will be a non-competitive race but will definitely be the ideal weekend bonding activity for family and friends while helping fund the charity works of Project PEARLS or Peace, Education, Aspiration, Respect, Love, Smiles.
More surprises await the runners not just during the actual race but also before and after. Several celebrities have been invited to grace the occasion with some actually running the course.
Registration fee is only PHP 650.00 for either distance category, inclusive of a dry-fit race shirt, race bib, color powder packet and a bottled drink. A commemorative medal and certificate will be awarded to all finishers.
The color powder to be used is of food-grade and thus safe. However, participants are strongly encouraged to bring their own eye protection like sunglasses or goggles.
To sign up, interested parties may proceed to the AffiniTea branches located in College of Saint Benilde and Centro Escolar University and Mizuno branches at the SM Mall of Asia and Robinson’s Galleria beginning on August 12, 2014 (Tuesday). Entries are also accepted at the LYCESGO office with other registration venues to be announced soon.
Only 2,000 to 2,500 runners are targeted to join this activity. Slots are limited so hurry and register before supplies go dry.
The Color Blast series began earlier this year with successful races held in the cities of Tayabas and Lucena in Quezon Province. Very soon, the series hopes to visit more major Philippine cities with Quezon City and Santa Rosa City among the early targets.
